Marie Dahlén(she/her they/them) is the artist behind the persona AMUSED, a multidisciplinary artist from the north of Sweden that started in the game industry 13 years ago and have since un-learned and re-learned to find new ways to create and express themselves. What drives their motivation for being an artist is grounded in the researching qualities of their artistic methods by gaining new knowledge in both technical aspects as well as introspective growth. This process becomes the seeds to their creations.

2021 they co-founded the art collective 10 Percent Human together with other non-binary and female artists. AMUSED is also a member of R00TS CLUB, a community driven space in the Metaverse that promotes diversity and inclusion for underrepresented groups. Art practice as a shared process and the reflexivity that comes with co-working with a cluster of other artists has become an important pillar in their work. AMUSED strongly believes in sharing and learning together, encouraging and supporting each other. No human is an island and so we create as part of a wider network of friends and co-workers in the art collective and beyond.

After working as a 3D artist the realisation that it's too restrictive to work with only one medium came and this drive for multidisciplinary has led to branching out from traditional painting into 3D, sound production, programming, pole dancing and lately into virtual realities and the metaverse. As an enthusiast of new edge technologies they believe it’s important to be part of these new emerging platforms to contribute and make space for diversity to inspire positive change in the world.
